Record: 56
Seven hundred and thirty.
I never thought the count would get this high, nor see what has happened happen.
Before you start getting worried, if that's your style, I'll say this-this is something positive, so please don't be upset.
Of course, there have been interruptions, and most of the numbers blur into one, but occasionally it serves well to pull one out of the count for consideration. But mainly, they keep their records, I keep mine, and we're content to let that be.
Just the reflections of a mind this morning.

...Then where are they going?

[A sizzle here and there] When newborns are born, they don't regrow. I've searched every inch possible of Edensphere that I've been able to so far and I'm still looking. I see no other signs of growth. Fugue doesn't seem worried.

[She listens to the news of the cocoons, mouth settling into a thin line, and her voice soft in case anyone decided to come in.] Either something's being corrected or something is falling very out of place.

[He pokes at the food and tilts the pan, his own face rather impassive as he flips the omelette around]
The outside remains untouchd. So far I have noticed nothing else really of diference.
no subject
[She's not going to comment on the near hypocrisy of her saying that.]
Double amnesia, the Wilderness acting up, and now missing cocoons. What are we headed towards, Black?

[Black slide over a plate and fork when it was done, and after ensuring the stove was off, he turned to face her once more.]
Newborns are still appearing it seems, but I cannot help but think that something hazardous may happen. This has been happening for more than a month.

Something is wrong, yes, but when have things ever been completely right? What we do is survive first, live second. That idea's been quite reliable so far.
no subject
Never. It could merely be another diaster and I am simply overreacting. The hatchery guide numbers have thinned as have the cocoons. I have every intention of surviving no matter what I must do.
no subject
[She bites her tongue at what she really wants to say to that, casting her gaze to the floor instead.] You aren't the type to overreact.

[He remembers the ninja attack the last time Greeters started disappearing] No, I suppose I'm not.
no subject
It's not adding up right. It just...isn't. But without further proof of anything...perhaps patience needs to be the sole recourse.
no subject
[And yet he was always hungry. Was a soul truely that delicious?] For a month and more this has been happening. When all the cocoons are gone, I wonder then if someone will begin to worry.
no subject
[Juliet stops, and then looks down] ...Forgive me. I presume too much and then start talking like I know you better than you do.
no subject
Forgive? For a reason he couldn't conceive that] But you do. You even know my name.

I will not allow anyone or anything to control what I am allowed and not allowed to do, think, say, or hear any longer.
no subject
Do you want to know?
no subject
Yes.
no subject
[Unless he can hear the first name, she won't give out the second.]
no subject
Sebastian... [He nearly snorts at how much that sounds like a dog's name]
no subject
[He has the first. He deserves the second.]
no subject
I was expecting someting different.

[She remembers his own explanation of it back in that darkened street. "This is the name the young master gave me, I am 'Sebastian' at the present." How amusing, that both of their old names were not exactly the real ones.]
It's only the one he gave you for that time. Nothing more.
no subject
[His brow lowers this time with a twitch. Again it was someone deciding something for him. He frowns then]
It was a name he gave me for that time. Then even then that is not my true name.
no subject
What do you want me to call you?
