Record: 56

Seven hundred and thirty.

I never thought the count would get this high, nor see what has happened happen.

Before you start getting worried, if that's your style, I'll say this-this is something positive, so please don't be upset.

Of course, there have been interruptions, and most of the numbers blur into one, but occasionally it serves well to pull one out of the count for consideration. But mainly, they keep their records, I keep mine, and we're content to let that be.

Just the reflections of a mind this morning.

Worried is not the word I'd use. No, I am not worried.

Would you prefer to speak on it, or has this conversation run too long already?

My Madame Juliet. I never mind speaking with you. It is not that I am worried or concerned. It is merely that if what I believe will happen, we shall cease to exist and while I have been sure of myself thus far, I am not sure nor precise on the outcome.

This time, I cannot predict what will happen.

If we stop existing...it will be on our terms. Not theirs. [There is a harder note in her voice, and the idea is said more to the invisible other rather than either of them.] So let it remain unpredictable. Sometimes the best of anyone is shown through spontaneity.

It's something I agree with even when we first spoke of it months ago. I will die on my own terms. [Like he said before, he would do what he needed to without hesitation] I am not one to involve others in this unless I need to especially those that may jump to conclusions. I plan to discuss this with Rabbit later.

Maybe we'll die, maybe we won't. It's a balanced question, answering it will tip it over. [Why it needed to remain balanced, that she knew but she wouldn't say.] Rabbit'll have a good response, he always does.

The Tree would prefer it if we didn't know all the answers regardless. Again, I merely intend to survive. [His head tilts just to regard Juliet, staring a bit impassively] He will. I can trust him with this.

If anything should happen to me the house is still yours and his. If need be use whatever excuse you have to should someone try to evict.

[This feels like a will. Yet it is something she'll accept.]

And if something to me, and I do not return, all my records are yours. They aren't perfect, but they might help.

[It did almost like an exchange of wills]

I will keep them safe regardless of your return or not.
