[ooc: backdate to this morning.]

I did not put this on. I cannot get it off.

What tricks are we now being subjected to?

what does it mean

pretty though

some sort of metaphor?

What happened? What's wrong?

[identity profile] esoteric_rose.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
I woke up with a strange hourglass attached to my neck. It seems several others also did.

[She takes a look at the rest of the comments.] But not many, and it's not because of a crystal.

It might be like the cat ears, but fitting something else. I haven't seen anyone like that today.

[identity profile] esoteric_rose.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Then it isn't widespread...

[identity profile] of-mindelan.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
[Min would tell Juliet to see what, if anything, she has in common with the others, but she's reasoning that the other will have started already.]

No. [Can't leave it at that, though, so -] Good luck with it.

[identity profile] grab-my-bells.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
What's the common thread between the people with it, do you think?

[identity profile] of-mindelan.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Best to be honest, of course.] I don't know - I'm not quite new, but I don't know most of the people who've written about these.

[identity profile] grab-my-bells.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, ok. I can't say I know enough about them either. No common gender, sexuality, physical appearance, occupation, greeter, number of memories...nothing obvious. I have to wonder if the common link is a person known/spoken to, or a comment made by them, given the rainbow...thing.

If there is a common link at all.

[identity profile] of-mindelan.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
It might be something we can't detect at all, or it could be random. The [close one - she almost writes Ordeal, then goes with what most people call it.] tree does what it wants.

But what do you mean, rainbow thing?

[identity profile] grab-my-bells.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
Quite possibly. Bloodtype, even, or [pentaps. He's out of ideas that come close to reasonable now.] It does indeed.

Just something Gene said about the Rainbow writers, the CPA. The sand is rainbow, so there's the suggestion of a link between the group and the hourglasses.

[identity profile] of-mindelan.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
[Being medievally, she assumes bloodtype has something to do with line of descent or something of the sort.]

CPA... [She wasn't here for the ticker tape announcement, alas.] Who are they? [There was one entry she saw... It did seem to suggest having a measure of power here. Min takes a stab.] The ones who were talking about horned friends and collars?

[identity profile] grab-my-bells.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
[Makes sense. Not what he means, but makes sense]

Horned-- Yeah, the unicorns and goats and collars people. There's a group of them that talk in colored ink, speak in riddles/secrets/etc.

They once mentioned sand in hourglasses running out for some of their own/us, though it seemed more metaphorical, just suggesting we all had limited lifespans.

[identity profile] of-mindelan.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
One or more said that they were agents. [Which, she's decided, means that they're projections of the Ordeal, aware of this, and not people who found themselves here. There are no superspy secret agents in her world, as far as she's ever known. Not that she's going to write that out.]

That's [pause. Can't unwrite anything she's written.] something. And no one remembers if this has happened before?

[identity profile] grab-my-bells.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
That's probably somewhat true, yeah.

Bastet's one of the oldest residents, one of the collared now, and she never suggested she's seen these before. I think this is new. We just have to wait it out and see what becomes of it when the sand runs out.

[identity profile] of-mindelan.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
[Hmm. Should she write it out? Min thinks about it. Maybe an oblique comment...]

I know it makes us forget almost everything that happened before.

[identity profile] grab-my-bells.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
If one disappears, yeah, that could be what happens. And the Tree can do whatever it wants with our memories, I guess.
